I have a portable 6 gallon tank for my 25 hp johnson. When it runs there is no problem, but when I squeeze the bulb gas leaks where the hose connects to the tank. Is this a leak that will get worse? Would it be more likely the hose or the connector on the tank?

You don't say how old your outboard is?

Years ago (I'm getting old) there were rubber "O-Rings" in those connectors that needed to be replaced periodically. You needed a small tool that had some kind of a hook on it to grab and pull out the old "o-ring". You could probably just bend a stiff wire and use that as a tool. Replacement rubber o-rings used to be available at most marinas that sold parts. You could also just buy a new connector if they are still available for that tank.

Yes, the problem could get worse.

Thanks. I'll have to look and see if there are o-rings on it. The motor is a 2000.

I would replace the hose and if that doesn't fix it replace the tank too. Any kind of fuel leak at the tank is a dangerous situation.
