| Need a reel suitable for the following conditions:
saltwater
bottom fishing (boat rod)
sturdy enough to handle the occasional grouper/king mackeral
small enough for a woman to use
Before you guys start making jokes, its for my mom. She's using a spinning combo/surf rod & reel right now and she says its "too hard to reel" and that the combo is too big for her. Guessing the gear ratio is a little high? Anybody here know about saltwater gear? Just looking for something simple, in the $50 range, that is suited for that type of fishing, and is simple to operate and doesn't require a lot of maintenance, tinkering/adjustment.
But I don't want it to be a POS either. I offered to send her one of my musky reels, but she says those are "too expensive"...

| Thanks, Karol.
But she says she doesn't like the "upside down" reels. |
