Location: Contrarian Island | Stealth Tackle will be offering a very limited supply of 180 lb Seaguar Fluoro leaders at the Chicago show. I have been making and using them (as well as quite a few friends) for over 2 years. John asked me to make them and be part of the Stealth Tackle lineup for 07. He will have about 75 at the Chicago show and more as needed and will be available for order from John anytime. They are made with the highest quality components and have been tested and musky approved on over 200 fish up to 40+ lbs! For those maybe a bit gunshy switching to fluoro these might just be the ticket. Very strong and VERY teeth/cut resistant. Stop in and take a look at the Mike Hulbert/Stealth Tackle booth this weekend. Edited by MSKY HNR 1/10/2007 1:22 PM

Posts: 551 Location: Columbus, Georgia | I have a direct question about these particular leaders: "Are the ones that are 100lbs, or 150lbs breaking? Why would one use such a heavy leader?" Is it to throw some of the super baits (weighing 5 ounces or more)? Thanks, Craig

Location: Contrarian Island | Good question. No, I have not heard of the 80 or 130 lb leaders breaking but I have heard stories of fish cutting thru 80 lb fluoro before. Can't say I have with 130. It's just another option, just like there are guys using 50 lb super line and guys using 100 lb superline... 180 is just as invisible in the water as 130, so when I started making my own leaders I thought why not use 180? 130 is easier to tie so the 180s are double barrel crimped and are rock solid. It just gives someone another option.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I used one this fall, and was very impressed. I only boated a couple using the leader before deer hunting/winter arrived, but was happy with the quality. Should be a good addition to the Stealth line-up.

Posts: 7039 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Just another testimonial: I used the stealth leaders of all sizes throughout the year, and only wore through about 6 in an entire year. Do the math, they just make sense to use.

Location: Contrarian Island | you bet Craig...good question..hope you can take a look at Johns leaders including the 180's sometime... Pikiespawn, I don't think John has a website up yet. I believe all his leaders are sold in packs of 2 for $10. They can be ordered directly from John by dropping him a PM, or emailing him direct at [email protected]
