Location: The Yahara Chain | Dr. Casselman talked about it briefly in his presentation last winter. If I remember correctly he thought it helped both reproduction and growth of the fish....fast growing fat fish  |

| global may be a good thing. problems that are underlying. will forage base also keep up. at present this years el-ninio is a setup for a failed spawn on st clair. our water temps as of yesterday are at 40 degrees.. my short term question. are we doomed for failure and increasing numbers of invasive species that can thrive in warmer conditions. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I think this issue is far too complicated to forward any concrete ideas. So much depends on local conditions and what happens with rain and snowfall amounts, etc. The earth has been 'warming' for about 10,000 years, and it sure seems to be a continuing trend at this point.
I bet mid week next week it doesn't seem like a problem here...  |

Location: Janesville wi | The earth may be warming like it has been since the last ice age but it's not like it's jumping 10 degrees each year. All of us will be dead before the earth is enough warmer to make enough of a difference. 1,000 years from now muskys might be extinct and bass will get up to 69 lbs. 11 ounces instead. |

The earth may be warming like it has been since the last ice age but it's not like it's jumping 10 degrees each year. All of us will be dead before the earth is enough warmer to make enough of a difference. 1,000 years from now muskys might be extinct and bass will get up to 69 lbs. 11 ounces instead.
Just think of fighting a 69 pound smallmouth... I think we need to speed this process up. |

Many waters in Northern Wisconsin are now nearly over run with Largemouth bass. Warmer, longer growing seasons and habitat changes favor these fish in many of our lakes, and they compete very successfully with Muskies and Walleyes, making NR much more difficult. The Minocqua and Tomahawk chains will have a 5 bag, no size restriction limit this year in an attempt to knock the population back some.
Should be fun fishing bass this season. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | just what i need ... a bunch a guys jumpin' in on my LMB action! LOL, it is true though guys and gals, the Minocqua Chain has become a really high quality bass fishery (surely at the expense of walleyes and other species). if you have any interest at all fishing bass, it's a great choice! we have been catching both numbers and size over the past 5 years or so and this year we even started catching them regularly through the ice. not sure the significance, but fishing the same winter locations for 12 + years in a similar way, all of a sudden this year we are putting numbers of big LMB's on the ice when we never did before.

| I've seen quite a few more and quite a few bigger LMB in Vilas these last few years myself. Never really thought much about the impact on other species, but they are voracious eaters. Any thoughts about their potential impact on the rusty populations? |

| It's true. The same people who spread fear of global cooling in the 70's are now spreading fear of global warming. It's really all about making you change you lifestyle to behave in the way they want you to. It's always fear of something in an attempt to control you . Don't you know you aren't smart enough to live your life the "right " way?
