Does anybody know if St. Croix actually makes the Avid AC300 or if it's actually a Luna made for St. Croix? The 2 reels look remarkably similar to me. Also does anyone know if the levelwind is always engaged on the AC300 and on the Luna TD300? I'm hoping they are as they are wide reels. Not sure which I want so I may have to try one of each.

the AC300 is made by Daiwa for St. Croix. It is basically identical the CV-Z with some minor cosmetic changes (that look really sweet!! :-). The avid's levelwind stays engaged while casting, and i'm assuming the Luna does the same. I use two of the avids and they are awesome, however if I buy another one I might consider trying a Luna.

Thank You sir. I believe the Luna is supposed to be a step up from the CV-Z. Looks like I can't really make a bad choice here.
