I have a Top Raider where the front section rolls during the retrieve.  Does anyone know how to tweak it to keep the front running true while the rear does all the requisite sputtering?

This has also occured with one of my top raiders. The weight could be loose or the tubing on your back treble is affecting the action as well. That was the culprit in my case.

If the weight is lose your best bet is to contact the manufacturer for replacement. Pretty tough for a guy to fix it himself.

Actually very easy to fix. Check the instructions out in the link above. If a dolt like myself could do it, you could probably improve upon the method...hehehehe. We have improved on the system though, and now use the side of a hook file or dremil to make a square hole, then, after replacing the weight, we put the piece back on and secure. Make the hole big enough to get in with a tweezers and put the weight where it belongs on the bottom(it only goes one way). Be sure to use Devcon Plastic weld for the weight fixing and for putting the top piece back on. They'll work actually better than new when done, though will ride a touch lower. If you want, send it to me and I'll fix. Never send them back in, unless it broke early in its' lifespan. The ones that I have fixed, will never leave my possession. They have 'it', if you know what I mean, and not all of them do, or did(I don't own any post 2002 topraiders so cannot speak for recently produced models).
