i was just wondering why a lot of guys sell a 30-40,000 thousand dollar boat made in 2006 only to buy a 2007 model the next year. what is the point? do you guy a new car every year? the boat should last you almost a lifetime. why waste the money?

Posts: 8781 | That and guides... 275 days on the water a year pounding the snot out of it, you can't afford to lose clients or guide dates over a broken boat. Better off just making sure it's new, working, and under warranty.

Posts: 69 Location: oak lawn IL | gander mt guy and essox addict had it rite plus dont forget about the guys that buy a boat not realizing what they want/need and feel the need to upgrade to a better boat. after 3 months of looking around/compairing boats i bought what i thought was a great boat for me (tracker pt 190/90 opti) including price. after the fist season(this year) i realized a few things that i would rather have like.... 1) a heavier boat (i didn't know the wind would blow me around soo much) 2) larger livewell 3) kicker for trolling and fishing smaller lakes 4) second windshield/console for my fish partner i realy love the rangers but i need a larger rear cating deck---i am almost never fishing alone does anyone have any sugjestions as to which boat to look at???

Posts: 454 | Look at the Tuffy 1890 Esox model. Huge back and front decks, Huge Livewell, heavy fiberglass boat, very wide. GREAT BOAT. I have a 2007 Tuffy 1890 Esox and love it. Attachments ---------------- IMG_2355.JPG (154KB - 74 downloads) IMG_2353.JPG (171KB - 87 downloads)

it seems like a lot of the guys that are not sponsored still buy brand new boats every other year but it seems like these are the guys that also dont get to fish as much because they are working to pay for the boat and everything eles. it amazes me because all of that money could be used towards a boat that is 20,000 cheaper and be used just the same as a 40-50 thousand dollar ranger. the more expensive boats dont put more fish in the net just a bigger hole in your wallet and less fishing time (unless your a guide)
