I know a post recently covered boat insurance but my question is in regards to the actual cost. Does $130 a year sound reasonable for a 1996 17' with a 125 hp engine, total package I had valued at $8000. Any insight would be great. Thanks for the help

That is exactly the amount of the annual insurance bill I received today for my 1997 Stratos with a 115 Evinrude.

One thing I learned about boat insurance is that it requires a rider or different insurance if you fish tournaments. Currently there are two company's I am aware of one is Old United Casualty (Anglers Advantage) and Anglers Choice (FCIS) my homeowners and/or autocarrier does not cover tournamnet or PAID EVENTS as they call them. Might be worth a telephone call in case you need them, hate to find out when its to late.

The baits in my boat are worth more than the boat. Go FGR. (8) Marv.

Check this out. My current boat ,1998 alumacraft 195 tourney pro,2003 yamaha 200,2004 custom eagle trailer.I valued it at 20 k for travelers ins and my premium was 460 a year.went to progressive and it dropped to$ 416.00. Heres where I got shocked ,I ordered an 07 ranger 620 valued at over 50k and just figured the premium would be about double of what I'm paying now ,but to my surprise geico came in at $ 447.00 per year. How can this be ? Same deductables same everything. Not complaining, just dont understand it.

What are the rest of you guys with these insainly overpriced boats paying?

Thanks Dave
