Due to Family commitments I am sad to say that the Boat was put to sleep for the year last Sunday, at Sunset as I slowly pushed her into her winter resting spot in my Mom's garage I swear I could hear taps playing in the background, Turns out I was not hearing things Mom's nextdoor neighbor kid plays the trumpet and he plays taps at sunset whenever the Bears Lose.

Who else is done for the Year?

Up North this weekend and WI River until the season closes - water by the dam does not freeze, it's the landings that are the risk.

Mad chain tomorrow... 2 vacation day's to burn so I'll burn one tomorrow. Weather is nice & the last few trips we just got hammered with wind & cold. Will call it when the season closes after turkey day... Wish they would extend it until the end of the year!!

All done for '06, winterize white trash this weekend. We have a family vacation from the 17th to the 28th . . . . and there are no muskies where we are going. I will be spending a day on the water though.

Not done for a while ice permitting. John, if you might be able to sneak out sometime, let me know. I just might have an open seat sometime in the future. I'm taking the 27th and 28th off to get out more than likely the last times this year. Unless IL stays open, then maybe a few more days after that.

Due to where I'm from... my season ended a few weeks ago. If I were to live out there, I wouldn't know what to do with myself during the winter. I've burned up quite a few thousand frequent flyer miles chasing those things. I can't complain about the results I had though. Can't wait for next year.

I believe it was 2 or 3 years ago when GregM said "Winterazation is overrated, keep fishing". Since our season never closes in Ia, I think that is a good plan. There are also a couple of ponds in Mo. I may have to try while the water is hard here.

My biggest Wi. fish came on Nov. 26th. So I'm still going to hit it this weekend for sure.

After last weeekend trip to Vermilion and boating 7 fish in 3 days, including a 50,48, and 53.5x27, any fishing in the Metro area would be seriously anticlimactic. I am done for the year; On a very high note.

Last cast of 2006.

Beautiful night- immense full moon rising-not a muskie to be seen.

Priceless

Not done for the year yet...hopefully hitting a small lake or two around the area...ice permitting. Would love to go up north somewhere and chase a monster, but my only fishing partner is going bow-hunting early Saturday morning and sighting in the rifle sunday.
Good luck to all who go out...be safe and get a pig.

Thanksgiving weekend is always the best. Most guys are done for the year and you get the whole lake to yourself.
