LongTale Tackle has had several requests for BIG baits. Seems that as the fish get bigger and bigger in Minnesota, the need for larger and larger lures increases. I still question the need, but where there is demand... someone has to supply, right? Ha ha.

Do you think a 3 hook arrangement such as this will have hooking issues? I haven't tried one myself..... yet..... but this prototype will get wet soon.

Shouldnt be a problem. Marv Kiley has been making a bait just like that for years...different blades, but the same hook setup.

im not a wire bait maker as we do wood. have you ever thought your last hook a siwash. might be dumb but its just a thought.

The only thing I would try is to put the hooks apposing each other. First one up then down then the last one up. With all three the same way I think if a fish bits down real hard there should be a space for there mouth to fall into. Put your hand around the hooks the way they are then try them the other way. See how the middle of your palm goes in between the first and last hook. I like to have hooks going in every direction. Other then that I think you make a nice looking bait!!! Evan

They should hook just fine. The trouble you may have is fouling on the cast. If you leave the hooks free swinging they are more likely to foul. Fouled casts drive me insane. I like all hooks pointing up for use in weeds.

My wife does all the tying. I just bend the wire and put the hardware on. She paints the heads and wraps the bodies.... as I don't have the patience for that kind of work (ha ha). So... LongTale Tackle is actually my wife's business... not mine (heh heh). That's probably a good thing too......
