I have a MotorGuide on my new boat that has a foot control. I notice when I start fishing that the red arrow pointer on top of the motor is sometimes off-kilter. I can twist the indicator to re-set it, but it doesn't always stay in the right place. God help me, I even read the directions. They said to remove the motor cover, re-set, then replace. If that doesn't work, any other suggestions? www.wishihadaminnkota.com

I have the same problem with my Minn Kota. I have a Maxxum 65 lb. and my directional indicator popped off and broke. I now have to guess which way I am steering. It is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

I am going to take mine in to get fixed. My motor has a 2 year warranty on it, so it should be free. You should check your warranty too.

Mike,

I have had the same problem for a few years. I found a small gear under the direction that occasionaly gets stripped. If you replace the gear it seams to work for awhile atleast. I'm not very happy with the Motor Guide laser II I have.

Good luck
