Subject: Tuffy Rampage

I just bought a 177 Rampage Tuffy Boat (1983) with a 40HP Mariner(1996) at an auction($300). Someone told me Tuffys are good Musky Boats. The Hull looks like a modified V and I am wondering what kind of ride I can expect? I live on Leech Lake and plan to use it on big water.

Thanks for any input.

first off 300$?? Wow great deal!

You should be Ok on MOST days, but on the days when that lake gets cranking you will have to be somewhat careful....then again that logic applies to most boats

You either got a Rampage 180 or a 160, those were the Rampage models. The Renegade came in 16'10 and an 18. If it's a sponsoned V model, you can expect a ride similar to a comparable sized deep V aluminum, great boat under most conditions.
