How did everyone do out on the water this weekend?

Me and Boron did some angry fishing in Indiana waters this weekend, boated a 36-37"er on a sucker, and moved a few more. Fishing was slllloooooowwww and big girls were nowhere to be seen. Weird thing of the weekend was that the fish we did boat had about 3" of solid wire (seven-strand) coming out its side. We tried to gently pull it out, and then tried to clip it, but nothing doing, so we let her swim off, with leader intact. Anyone ever seen this before? I should have a pic of it, if Boron sends me it, that is!

Was out on Indiana waters also. Webster Saturday morning where we boated a mid 30 on a sucker and lost another. Then headed to the Barbee chain the rest of the day and boated another mid 30 on a crank bait. We did witness a 42" on the chain Saturday. Sunday they were biting much better but they didn't want to get in the boat...1 for 7! lost 4 on suckers and 2 jigging...caught a 36 jigging.

Got out on the Fox Chain on sunday , managed to get a healthy 37" for my wife's first muskie !!! I bet she's still saying " Man that was cool !! " , she wouldn't stop saying it all day yesterday and had a grin from ear to ear !!! It's cool to see the reaction from someone who's never caught a muskie before , priceless !! Now she understands why we go out in crappy weather all day and torture ourselves week after week , she's got the bug for sure !! She's asking to go again next weekend already !!! Great day on the water , another fish would have made it a little better but that's how it is !! Pics are coming !!

Fished Friday night with Sled and Big Hags on Minocqua - nothing going.
Went out on small cisco lake and Sled had one hot on his lure for 4 turns, but it did not eat. I was tossing a Big Joe and on the next cast she ate - 39" (Thanks for loosening the lid Jon). Did not see a fish the rest of the day. Headed back on Sunday to fish the WI River with Hags and Big Mo, but again no go. There's always next time - hope is alive!

Word has it that there was a 51 1/2 inch girl out of Lake Carroll, a 636 acre private lake in IL. I fished it for the first time ever on saturdayand raised 1 fish all day long that was a mid 30s.

Got out for about 35 minutes Saturday AM w/ the family...that didn't go well

Sunday AM I took one of our seasonal employees from work out. We got a small one, but it was cool as it was his first.
Weather was sunny and calm both days; water temps upper 50s.
Looks like that's changed - it rained last night and snow advisories for the mountains next 2 days.

Got out on the Barbee chain with Mike Hulbert Saturday. We moved 6 fish in the mid to upper 40's that all went a minimum 10 laps on the 8. Hooked up a 38 on the tenth lap of an 8 lost it when it went hoochie mama and threw the hooks.

Sanks and I were out and boated 2 on Pewaukee. One dink and the other 36"r. Tough weekend though with the cold weather and wind speed at 20-25mph.

Caught my first sucker muskie this weekend. It was only about 32" but it was exciting none the less. Fun hooset. I like the Herbie rig. Have a week trip planned to the bouler/presque isle area oct. 30 - nov. 6th. I can't wait.

Had a rough Saturday on the water weather-wise. Brutal conditions to start out, very cold and windy with flurries. Only moved 4 fish, one tried to eat a planer board, but put 3 dandies in the boat. A fat low forties, then 2 at 48.5 and 51+. Mark again got the big one. All fish caught were on deep breaks, hit on big artificials (dawgs and cranks) and are very girthy. Sucker bite has been sporadic from other fishermen I've talked to. Water temps in the high 40's with mild weather forcasted for this week should level off. Also, many big bucks sighted this week as well. A buddy took a big 9, I saw to good 8's fighting, and a giant locked pair shot in Eagle River included a 13 pointer and an 18 pointer. Also a big 18 pointer at 22" wide killed close by. Fall run starting early but will probably back off with mild temps. New moon this week so get out there.

Fished Sunday and Monday morning at Kinkaid.
Boated a 44, 38, and a 36". Lost 2 others, had a fish around 40" slam a Squirko and set the hooks and the line broke! I was totally bummed out. It was the first time I have ever had 80lb Cortland Spectron break on me. I mean it just snapped! I checked my guides and sure enough, one was broke in half and razor sharp. It cut that line like a hot knife through butter.
Anyway, lesson learned and a reminder to check those guides everybody!
All in all, we caught the 3, lost 2 had 2 strikes, and 4 follows.
LLungen tails and Squirko's moved most of the fish.
Water temps were 64 degrees, 3-4' visibility throught most of the lake.

Does Monday night count as the weekend?

Fish are on these deep breaks, fishing smaller lakes where the temps are lower than the big lakes. Big plastics in 20'.

Mark Lijewski with another tank released at 7pm last night.

We moved some fish but couldn't get any in the net. Here is a pic of Vilas County last weekend.
