Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | think if you could get consistant footage of guys fighting muskies, you could generate interest. The logistics say no. Muskie are a team sport, so no room for a camera man in each boat. Also, Most of the "TV" fromm Bass and Walleye is at the weight in. How do you set up in a stadium with lights and music if we release the fish? Maybe beaming images to a jumbotron or something.
-I could fit a camera man in my boat, and its smaller than most big time tourney boats.
-Team sport? Make it a pro-am, like walleye tourneys. Co-anglers help net fish, etc. Yes a bit different here.
-TV: put the fish on film in a presentation (PMTT does pics now, why not do video? takes an on-site production team, but it could be done) at the end of the day.
3 day elimination tourneys: you'd need to cut the field after day one or two, then you get a camera boat in all the final days' competitors boats.
It CAN be done. Would be a HUGE investment of time/money/etc., but see my post above. If you had the interest, the promotion, the resources from sponsorship would come. |
