Mr. Long: I was watching a segment of In-Fisherman last night and they were discussing the crayfish and its importance to small and large mouth bass. Is there any evidence to indicate that crayfish play a role in muskie feeding patterns? I can't imagine a trophy sized fish getting much protein benefit out of a strict diet of crawdads, but do smaller muskies snack on them? Anyone have any luck using crawdad-patterned baits for muskies? Just a thought.... m[]

Muskies in Pelican Lake, WI eat those crayfish. Scuba divers report them "scouring" the bottom for crayfish... and you often see fish taken from the east side of the lake with "worn" lower jaws.... probably from scooping them up off the rock/gravel bottom.

Hmmm... I wonder if there is a connection with Worrall's jig success and crayfish in Pelican Lake???? [:halo:]
