This custom Big Shot was made with a gold blade instead of the traditional copper. What do think looks better? Any ideas why Copper and Red is so popular in tannic stained water?

Also... my son wants to name it the Hot Rod. Got any better name ideas?

Jlo, hot rod is a rock'n name for that. I'm not sure why it is on the copper and red, but copper and chartreuse is another rock'n color, but for that color, clear water and bright days. There's something about copper. I think it's because not too many peeps are throw'n it. Keep up the good work! It's cool that it's a family process. My wife would laugh at me if I had her tying hair.

Hey Tuffy1,
My kids are really into it. My youngest son, Ethan, has been designing his own Little Shots. Its amazing how creative they can be. He knows exactly what color hackle he wants, mixed with flashabou, and just the perfect blend of hair. He will stand there and watch Mom tie it up... and "correct" her if it isn't EXACTLY what he wants (heh heh). So funny.

And... if we don't have the material he wants.... he's still young enough to lay on the floor and throw a tantrum trying to get mom to go to the store to buy it for him (heh heh heh). I tried that too.... but it seems to only work for kids 5 and under (ha ha).

The Long Family is having a blast with this.

copper seems to look orange and show its actual 'color' more in dark conditions and dark water it seems. that is the only thing I can muster. I wondered the same thing too.

Very Cool Jason. You can tell by the look on his face that he's pumped with that pike. It says, I designed this little slayer. Keep up the good work.

Jlo, make one with copper chartreuse, and a touch of orange. That is a saweeeet color. But don't tell anyone.

Fool... Yup.. you are right. Hot Rod is the name I gotta go with (can't argue with the kids). But... I like the copper blade better than the gold (heh heh).

He looks just like Daddy. Very cool pic.
I like gold. But, I read an article about baits and how muskies see color authored by you. Just thought of that.
Are you participating in the MF outing? If so, Rob and I will see you there.
Take care, Jason.
