Location: north central wisconsin | I would like to take a float trip down ther WI, and maybe the Pelican and some of the other smaller tribs the week after we get bavk from Vermillion next week. I was wondering how the rain has affected the flows up there, and if the USGS site numbers are pretty accurate for how things look right now. I know things can change in two weeks, but I was just wondering if the flow was adequate on the smaller waters, and if they are floatable with small Jon or Canoe. Feel free to PM or email, or ignore me all together..LOL.. Thanks in advance for any insight. If you see my rig parked at the bridge, stop at the next one for a cold one, and to give me a ride back up.....

| Sounds like an adventure! To confirm the vessel you will be using, is it a jon boat/canoe or your river rig Jason? I took a canoe trip when I was a few years younger and saw many respectible muskies on the St. Croix River in very small channels/tributaries. Do you down size your tackle for these fish with the clear shallow waters? (not sure how clear and and shallow it is where your going however) |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Reefhawg- My brother inlaw & I floated the Jump River back around 1984- each of us had a 4 x 8' sheet of plywood- 2 semi-tire tubes(bicycle tire pump-patches) etc. and a folding reclining lawn chair and a push pole- Each had his own gear+ food split between us. 4-days we had a blast- he caught his first muskie, saw some mid 40" fish- ate crawdad's every night. It was blast!
Maybe I could convince Jazzy & X-Man to loan you the "Black Pearl". Of course they have to add a few more milk jugs to float her with your carcass on board.

Location: north central wisconsin | Got esox? I use either my 14' Queen of the Waterways(old alumacraft, and my first Musky rig) or my buddies Gruman scanoe. My favorite type of musky fishing for fun and mystery! I sent you a PM regarding your other ????
Al, That is cool!! She must be a seaworthy craft, as the ole Jump can whip into a mighty rage as I'm sure you know.....YARR! I get a kick out of seeing stuff like that(except when I am on a float and 15 of those types of things are floating down the same time we are...heheheh). With all the chili I ate at our club banquet last night, I wouldn't need my trolling motor for the black pearl either.... Those your little ones?
