There is a good chance that fish had something caught in its throat. I hav seen this once with a big pike and once with a big northern. The pike had a crappie stuck and the musky had a leader hanging out of its mouth. They just seemed to be sunning themselves porpoising like nothing was wrong.

Stug, that fish is in the area so keep on her. She will eat again eventually and hopefully not leave the area before you catch her

it was a porpoising (sp?) fish....good luck getting it to eat....I've seen hundreds in my days and the only thing I have heard works is BURNING a bucktail past the fish...I had one hit about 10 yrs ago on a jackpot on about the 5 cast back to the area...usually when you see alot of porpoising muskies it is not a good sign for things to come....just my 2 cents.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I agree with Mr. Nelson, when the fish are behaving like that they are usually tough to trigger.
