Location: Northern Wisconsin | over my week trip my 6500 c3 wouldnt engage right away, sometimes it would take a few turns of the reel sometimes 10 or more. i have heard it might be the clutch arm or tons of other factors. can i fix this by myself? what will i need and where can i order parts? this reel is 3 years old. any tips will help, thanks. steve Edited by fish4musky1 8/13/2006 11:28 AM

Location: Northern Wisconsin | ok thanks, do you think it could be anything with cleaning? how hard is it to clean a reel with the steps from the post above?

Location: Northern Wisconsin | i took my reel apart to clean and look it over using the instructions in the above post and found it was pretty easy. i found the clutch arm and i can see it is a little worn down where it sticks up. just one time taking it apart i feel pretty comfortable already and hopefully can save some money fixing them my self instead of sending them in. thanks chuck!

Posts: 8806 | I used them cleaning Diawa and Shimano reels. The biggest thing is remembering how it came apart and how the parts go back together and in what order.
