there's a video up on http://www.cnn.com of a 46.5" northern pike caught from a lake in Colorado. they were looking to catch trout, and tied into the pike instead. video is just the guy and his kids holding the fish in his driveway, but pretty cool to see it make CNN instead of endless war video. and yes, it would have been nice if he released it, but he's putting the fish of his lifetime on wall and will have some pretty cool stories to tell people about it.

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | My buddy caught a 47 inch pike this year on our trip up North. We got it at the Anglers Kingdom just north of Red Lake. A 51 inch pike was caught while we were there on a jig! lol at the poor walleye fisherman who brought that up!

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | What really sucks about this is the DNR considers pike vermon. They stocked them, they spawned successfully and now the trout anglers want them gone as does the DNR. No limits and they don't want any thrown back. They, like the tiger muskies are not considered a gamefish by the dnr. Tigers are stocked for the sole purpose of controlling shad and sucker populations. Too bad because they grow esox speicies well over desired sizes.
