Subject: loss of power with optimax

I have a new 90 opti and it has ran great until today. I was slowing down to let some passengers off at the dock after running full throttle and the motor died, it started back up and then died again while going at slow speeds until I was able to give it sufficient gas. Then it would not run over 2300 rpms. didn't really cut out but did smell gassy. I just figured I had fouled a plug. I took the plugs out when I got home but they really didn't look that bad. One was a very little bit dirty but not what I would expect from a fouled plug that wouldn't fire. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

water seperation "filter" ?? just a guess.

got good pressure in the gas line bulb? could just be the bulb.

If you are not going to replace the plugs, then run some sea-foam through it with the gas.

I would replace the plugs though if it's been over a year or two. I usually replace mine every year, just good insurance.

good luck,
cf
