Beav I am sure you will appreciate this bit of information!

I just spent the last two hours entering all my material and supplies costs and lure sales for 2006 into a spreadsheet. After figuring in all my hours, I am making between 5 and 7 dollars an hour! lol. Minimum wage in the state of Oregon is 7.25! Oh, my figures don't include yet the Federal tax of 10%...so figure that in too. No kidding.......these numbers are the honest truth! I would be better off working at KFC!!!

I make 32 dollars an hour at my day job.....I'm thinking I better keep it!

Lure making: it's a labor of love, or maybe it's just stupidity!

I don't have a day job, and I don't make a profit.
Mine is just a hobby.

Yea, well I do make a enough money each month to make a boat payment and pay for some gas. But you know building and selling these baits has rewards beyond the money. Musky fisherman have been good to me, no problems whatsoever. There is also something to be said for doing something you very much enjoy and being able to work out of your home is really nice too.

My lure-making days are short-lived.
Disability or not, I'm expected to bring some money into the household.
My pension does nothing but pay the health insurance premiums and a few bills.
I thought that this could be an option, but it's proving not to be.
I won't be doing it much lomger.
The muskie world can get along without me.

You can't making any real money as a basement bait maker. For me its just a winter time hobby to keep my head n the sport. Mass production, marketing chains, advertising, etc. It becomes more like work and not fun anymore then. I'd rather have a challenge to make some sort of special lure than make 30 of something simple any day. Of course, there's even less moeny in that though.

That's my attitude also. I've been asked how I have the patience to add all those tiny details to every bait...because the glory makes it all worthwhile! lol
Seriously though, I like knowing that something I worked so hard on is being appreciatd by someone else.

I don't know why no one is making a good profit. I just bought three brand new lawn mowers with my profits.
They are varied speed with mow and fertilize capabilities, and zero turn radius. What more could one ask for?

STAN
the most important thing....(if they're co-ed)

u'll never need another lawnmower again...AND..the longer you have them...the more you'll eventually have!!!!

good stuff there.

plus, after a while, u'll be able to eat your older lawnmowers and not worry about replacing them!!!

See Guys?
Yeti caught on real quick.
These mowers don't break down AND they can be recycled.
These mowers are the new brand called Natures Best.
