I just updated the software on my LCX-25 and the GPS Module that come with it. The update for the LCX-25 went fine but when I tried updating the software for the GPS module the update failed. Now the head unit can't find the GPS module. Has anyone experienced this? Any help in resolving this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I have been have trouble also with updates. I talked to Josh at Thorne Bros. He said that the gps moduel must be powered up and tracking the satellites before you attempt to update the module software. He also said that if you update the module software but not the unit software, your going to get the gps module not responding message. Or vice versa. Appearently both the unit and the moduel have to be updated at the same time.

Due to problems with downloading a Java program, that will run the Lowrance software updates, I'm just going to hook my boat up and take it over to Thorne Bros and let them install the software updates for my moduel and LCX11c unit. It seems a lot easier way to do it for me. I can't get the java program to install on my computer.

hope this helps

Lots of issues doing the updates right now.The module must be updated BEFORE the unit is what I've been told. We're suspending doing updates til we hear from Lowrance that everything will work as it's supposed. This has been a mess.Hope it gets figured out soon.We get 25 people a week bringing in various units for updates.Cross your fingers.Might want to give Lowrance a call and see what to do next. The LGC-2000 must be updated prior to updating the unit. MMC card with update must be installed with the unit off and then started. If it doesn't automatically update when started, hit menu menu, software, browse mmc files and select the appropriate version .luf file, 1.7.0 I think, then i believe you hit enter. You should see a status bar for the upload. Hope this helps. I just did it on both of my units.

I updated my 332 a couple weeks ago the one thing that you have to do with the puck is that it does not automatically update when you put it in the unit like the depth finder updates. There are instructions on the Lowrance web site that explain the process.

I have upgraded probably close to 40 Sonars and receivers this year. Made no difference if the receiver was updated first or not. I have a chip that I carry with me that has all the latest updates on it. The sonar will find the right one, and the puck needs to be done manually.

Thanks for the correction Shep! I remember now. The puck must be manually loaded the way I mentioned in my post about the .luf file. Sorry for the confusion.
