I am looking for a butt seat on an adjustable pedestal for my 04 Crestliner Fishawk. The bases and seat posts are Attwood brand, I am looking for my options, do I have to purchase Attwood (expensive), or is there an aftermarket pedestal that will fit. Is my only concern the diameter of the hole? Do I have to buy Attwood to have the lock mechanism match up? Any help from Crestliner owners would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave

The base can easily be replaced to accomodate any seat you would want to use. It's just a matter of removing some screws and possibly drilling a few holes to match up with the holes in whatever base you end up going with.

Thanks AWH, the problem I have with changing the base is now I can only use that seat, and not the factory full seat if I wanted. I can't believe there isn't an aftermarket company that makes a compatible pedestal. Is everyone changing there base? Does anyone know if Springfield makes a compatible pedestal?

Anyone else with experience on this? I did search Walleye Central as well, with not much luck.

Dave

I replaced my frontbase and put a new one in the rear that is in the center. I used Lund style base and then bought tan Lund banana style butt seats. Best improvement to my boat yet. The Lund banana seats are great. I had to enlarge the hole for the base but was not a big deal. 2 Lund banana seats and bases was about $420.

Mossback,

I just ordered two butt seats and pedestals from Cabelas for my 99 Fish Hawk. Mine were the 1.77" posts they were like $58 each and the seats were $20 each. I think the new ones also use the same bases as mine. Call Crestliner at (320) 632-6686 and ask them which posts you need. Good luck..............Todd

If you are going to put in a new base, I might suggest you consider moving the base about one-two feet toward the bow. The present position is in the middle of the deck, which makes it less useful when fishing for muskies. BG

Dave,

I've been trying to figure out the same thing for awhile now to, I have an 01' fishawk, the only one I've found that I think will work is made by Springfield. I know Cabelas and Basspro carry them, they are 2-3/8" in diameter so they gotta fit, and they are air ride pedestals so they should be nice. They're asking like $75 for the pedestal only, so with a seat you are looking at $100.

Hey crackpot, cool, I wondered if the Springfield would work. I guess if the diameters are the right size, it should work. I guess I was just looking for something that used the lock slot as well, just like the factory seat.

Funny thing is I asked the guy at Bass Pro about the Springfield, and I even brought one of my posts in with me, and he said it wouldn't work. Figures, these days the consumer knows more than the retailer.

Thanks to all for your suggestions, if anyone has any more ideas, please don't hesitate to post. Fishawks are popular enough, I think a lot of guys have had the same questions.

Dave.
