Does it matter what type you put in there? I have a 5 year old Trailmaster that had never been sold. Sat in their lot. Brochure says to use this or that, 4 different suggestions as a matter of fact. Stopped in three places and have not seen a one. All types the brochure suggested have lithium in their names. Wheels have a zerc? fitting and it is ok to submerse these. So, won't any type work?? Thanks, the rookie.

If the trailer sat for 4 years, I would venture to bet that the grease has gotten a little hard/caked just from sitting there. I would do a bit of preventative maintenance and tear them down, clean and repack. A good wheel bearing grease is all you will need. make sure it is high temp. Most bearing grease is formulated with lithium in it....little better protection and less chance of breakdown if water does get in.

No matter what you have on the trailer: Dust caps, bearing buddies, etc, water will eventually work it's way into the hub. Just make sure at the end of the year to tear them down, and repack with new seals. That way, water is not on the bearing creating any pitting/rust, which will greatly shorten the life of the bearing.

I'd play safe, take the hour and repack...
