I need to build a rod locker in a fish and ski boat. I have about 7'9" down the center, on the floor between the seats. 20 inches wide between the seats. I was thinking of a half inch treated plywood box about 5 inches high to hold 5 combos. Has anyone had to do this before and do you have any tips or ideas. This setup needs to be removable also.
Thanks Terry

I’ve never made one myself, but I have seen pictures of some that looked pretty cool. They used golf club tubes to keep the rod holder organizer. The tips of the rod slides into the tube, so they can’t get tangled. Then they built shelves of different widths that the rod handles rested on. If needed, you can bungee cord the rod handles down. Look on bassboatcentral.com for ideas. If you search the archives, you will probably find what I am talking about. They will have pictures and everything.

I wouldn’t waste my money on treated lumber, because you are going to have to treat it yourself anyway. Just get regular plywood, and cover it with a coat of fiberglass resin.
