Location: Waukesha, WI | I am buying a new rod. Is there any functional difference between a one piece and a two piece? I have all one pieces now, but was thinking about going with the two piece to save on shipping.
Thanks |

Location: Nekoosa, WI | Stick with the one piece rods, you will be glad you did. One piece rods are stronger, more sesitive, and balanced better. I have never liked a two piece rod for anything, but I do have a couple 8'6'' Lamiglas Kenai Special rods that I used in Alaska salmon fishing. The only thing that would make them better is if they were one piece! hahahah Just my .02 cents, but in the end it's your rod and your money. Jason Bovee

| The stick I use 80% of the time is the Diamondback 8-6 two piece heavy. This stick has the same Diamondback quality light weight, balance with superior performance. It is my go to stick. I do not agree with anything written about why not a two piece when it comes to this stick.
I am sure by next year there will be more written about this blank.

| Is that Diamondback a standard two-piece, or are you talking about the retractable butt section type? |

Location: Apollo, PA | I have Keith's 2 piece DB and it is my favorite. I probably will buy another sometime because anything that nice should be overdone........
I know i heard something like that on this board before.

| It is a standard two piece. The difference is Diamondback does not mass produce any of their blanks. This one is extra special because the two parts are made for each other meaning they have a good fit. The blank is 8-6 but still can be cut to any length.
I do not think the reasons for not buying a two piece apply to this stick. Just my opinion. Guess the truth will be told in those that are using it this year.
