| Do a search on key word Nitro at www.wmi.org/bassfish You will find hundreds of threads about these boats there. Focus your attention to the trailer. Many have had big trouble with the trailers and also stress cracking. Another place to look is at HTTP://members.aol.com/NitroOwners/ |

| I have a Stratos 290 s/f. It is a very nice boat. The reputation is good for the
Stratos but do the same checks as you do with the nitro.
Good luck. Terry |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I ran a fish/ski for a few years and here's my advise: Get a bigger boat then you think you'll need.
The problem with them is that the boat tries to please 2 masters and there's just not enough room to do both well in 18' IMOP. Of course it depends on what kinds of water you're going to be on.
I'd also check out the Tritons. They make a great boat and the quality is going to be better then the nitro. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I think my borther in laws Nitro is a 189, not positive.. with that said he really likes it... Many however do not care for the Nitro/Tracker lines for whatever their reasons.... They do have great prices, though tend to come underpowered, try and get the most HP you can afford if you go with the Nitro.. I have heard quality on them has gotten better in recent years.. A good place to check out for info on boats like the Nitro 189 or the Stratos 180fs is Bass Boat Central message board where they actually have a forum dedicated to just Stratos, and another for just Nitro, plus other various brands: http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/ |
