Hi friends i´m planning on getting a new jerkbaitrod for this season,I have been thinking about either a 7" Lamiglas or the 6,9" diamondback. If any of you guys use either of these rods please share your thoughts on them. All input will be much appritiated.I will be throwing mostly mid-sized jerkbaits between 3-5 oz.If you have any tips on other rods, that would also be interesting.I won´t have a chance to handle the rod before ordering so all advice will be of great help.

I would suggest a Rod made with a Diamondback Blank. The jerkbait rods I use are 6'10" and 7'0" and both are diamondback heavy action blanks and both will throw just about anything I want. They are also light enough in weight that they do'nt wear me out on the water. Good Luck

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | Pikestalker I would highly recommend calling Keith, just picked up a new 7 Jerkbait, Diamondback that he built for me, all I can say is that it is a awesome stick, light, loads, can handle small and large jerks. Had lamiglass rod in the past, were always very heavy, and not alot of dealers rep them. Diamondback black are the way to go, might cost you a little more, but once you try them you will be oredering more. Troyz

Posts: 207 Location: Mpls, MN | Here is a question I have since I need a new jerkbait rod. heavy power - med action or heavy power - fast action What would you rather use and what will each do different with these actions? Just looking for some ideas and thoughts as I figure out if I should buy a Luna or a new rod for the 6600C4 I got the other day as a gift. Yeah I know both would be nice but I think I am going to blow some cash going to Mexico in a few weeks.

Posts: 401 | If I remember correctly, the stick you got from me in March was a heavy action Diamondback. The difference in the the heavy and jerkbait blank is in the action and construction of the blank. The DB jerkbait blank has a faster tip on it then then heavy. The blank itself also has thicker walls so it can take larger baits. Both blanks are still lite. Happy Hookers stick was made on the jerkbait blank. Call me if you want to see it. I will meet you somewhere. Thanks Keith
