Looking at a new Crestliner and a 150 motor. Would you choose the Verado or Optimax. I have heard there have been problems with the Opti. Have they been correted? Any advise you all could give would be apprecaited.

There was never a issue with the small block Mercury Optimax. It was the big block and that was over 4 years ago. I don't know much about the Verado yet.
I have had NO problems with my 250XS.

Both are great motors. The 150 Opti is as reliable a motor there is. Easy on gas and oil, it's got a great history. The Verado, while new, is an awesome motor. A bit heavier than the Opti, it is the best performing 4 stroke made. It's easy on fuel, has great holeshot and midrange performance, and is quiet. Digital throttle and shifting provides a new driving experience.

You can't make a bad decision here.
