Who makes a smaller glide bait? I'm looking for something for (dare I say it) Pike that I can throw with lighter equipment.
I would like to find a slow sinker (or count down) in a glider that is about 4 to 5 inches and maybe a 1/2 inch wide or so. Preferrably under 2 oz.
thanks for any ideas.

Mark Smith of Smuttly Dog makes a great looking little glider. I think it is @ 4"?

Cobb's Crazy Shad is made in a 4.5" version. And there's a new Mini Eddie Bait at 4.5".

Those are the only others that I can think of at the moment.

Riverrun, the makers of the manta, are supposed to have a little one out by the Northern opener. If it swims anything like a manta, they will have another winner on their hands!

That little smultey dog is awesome. So is the tiny wide glide. Beav probably has something cool too.

The small P-ron-ah is a good choice too.

Here's a pic of a portion of the '06 selection.
The top one is a Perkas, and is a little over 7" long, just to give you an idea of what the others measure.
The bottom ones are very limited, only 25. So if you like those, drop me an e-mail and let me know what colors you'd like.
The third ones down are Perkettes. I have 150 of those ready. Like having a 7" Perch in your hand. Very stream-lined. I'll be making 8", 9" and 10" versions of those as the season progresses.
I only picked up less than 20 of the bluegill shaped ones, and that's what I'll paint them. Bluegills and Shad. I'll be keeping all but 10 of those.

The little jerko is an awesome spring bait and can be thrown with your average bass set-up.

I make a 6" Nitro and a X Glide. To tell you the truth 7" baits work as well but needs a little heavier rod. They work for walleyes too. Check the picture page on the H2O website. Along with a dive and rise 6" Ripper that twitchs nice.

The p-ron-a from mad dogis a sweet bait that produces big fish for how small it is. It is also super easy to work. I also like throwing the small jerko that keith makes.

This is one that I made about 4 or 5 years ago. It is same as the 7” TY-JACK but just 5” and about 1 ½” belly. I give up making because every time I got done rounding over the edges I would count fingers. Scary!!!!

E-mail if you are interested I have some blanks if I recall. [email protected]

I second the baby jerko(big fish lure too..) and Rogers small Nitros. The small Phantom is in that size range too.

Has anyone used the Salmo Slider? I've never used one, but always been kind of curious.

muskie safari tackle company has come out with the mr. automatic glider in a smaller version right around 4 inches. we've been fishing them for about 5 years now and they are available in stores starting this year ... they are worth a look. a fast cadence sub-surface walk-the-dog bait built like a tank. great for warmer water when muskies are chasing and maybe following and not eating.

there's a pretty wide variety of colors and they'll be available soon in most of the stores people shop at regularly including rollie&helen's

i fish 'em a lot ... and i pay the same as you guys will, so this is not an advertisement ... just a bait that catches fish from my experience, and a really fun bait to work. Ray Charles could fish this one!
