Why use a sharpie on a hook point? I must have missed that somewhere.

To keep the metal from rusting, thus the need to resharpen every time you pull it out of the box.

FSF- Sharpie= permanent markers, like Sanford "Sharpie", i.e., using a red one for touching up blood red hooks.

Have fun!

The Charlie Ward at the local V.A. used to use 'em as part of their Anger Mgt. Program; coupled w/ soft classical music, the soothing strokes of a Sharpie allow patients to express mellow strokes and expression as an outlet. Best I remember, the only hooks encountered were right or left ones when the staff short changed us on meds or turned the lights out 5 minutes early. In these modern times, I'd say their use on fish hooks may be an attempt to prevent rustage, or perhaps to get their point across?

***FSF> you going to be around during the Outing next month? Doc cleared me for take off, thinking about headin' up...

LOL, Sponge if you are going to be there no telling who might show up just to bask in your reflected glory! I was reading the various cave threads and I am not really sure when it is. Kind of confusing. They need to take down the threads with the wrong days and put up the right days. I'm still not sure when it is, and I will have to schedule days for April pretty soon.
