Posts: 569 Location: Williamstown, WV | Mikie and me fished Middle Island creek here in West Virginia on friday and Mikie beat me. He caught this hog at the end of the day. Persistance pays off. That lure in that giant's mouth is made by hawgseeker tackle. It was the first time I had fished these baits and theywill be getting plenty of soak time this upcoming year. Seriously check them out at www.hawgseekers.com (and no i wasn't paid by them to say that, i really like them). Location: Athens, Ohio | Like Louie would say, "It's not just the length, but the weight!" That plaster sure looked heavy. Shawn and I had a fine day out. It was a bit spooky breaking thru a thin coat of ice on the river as we started out, but water conditions were near-perfect: clear, green, a bit low; temps started at 37* and went up to 41, just shy of a prime bite. Shawn has fished these waters for years and was a fine instructor; I think I was able to suggest a few new things to the lad, too. Some of those Hawg Seeker baits were awesome, I'll be writing up details later. I saw three booths yesterday at the Columbus muskie show where they were being sold, and saw quite a few of them waking out of the place in peeps' bags. Folks there seemed to get a real kick out of my Muskies 101 shirt: "I fished with Tony Grant and All I Got was this Stupid T-shirt". By the end of the day, with the help of quick minds like Laura's and Karen's, we had perverted the saying beyond recognition. Anyway, Shawn, let's hit that stream again in about 5 more degrees. I want to try some Rattle Baits next time, too. Thanks again, m Edited by mikie 2/26/2006 12:45 PM

I am looking forward to getting out fishing with Josh sometime soon. I scored a bunch of there baits at the Milwaukee Show. I could not pass up there booth without purchasing some. They also have some of the best rubber repair glue I have ever seen.

Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | Water could be opening in Indiana this weekend with the forcasted temps. Fishcrazed and I aren't sure we can find a trophy like Mikie's though! Funny picture! How ya doin Shawn? Haven't talked to you in a while. We'll have to hook up in the chat room one of these days before the warm weather settles in. Good luck to you and Mikie on your future outings with the new baits. Steve

Location: Athens, Ohio | Looks like a wild ride, dude. I actually got back out fishing that same stream today and had a mid-30's up doin the snake dance with my magic maker. And, where besides First can you say that without goin to jail? Threw back several different baits, never saw her again, but she was within 6-8 ft. of the boat. Water in the low 50's now. m

We usually make the winner of "Gump of the Year", the dumbest move of the trip award winner sit atop the big walleye.

Location: Athens, Ohio | That's no lie, dude. Two of the biggest 'eyes I've ever seen came during muskie fishing. Here's one of them, with my son Jon. m Attachments ---------------- 01_13A.JPG (41KB - 115 downloads)
