Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | What do you use to attach the stinger hook on your spinnerbaits? I've tried rubber tubing, plastic discs cut from almost every type of container out there, and tie straps (bad idea). Any bulletproof hook keepers out there? |

| Have you tried the small zip ties? You can put them above the eyelet of the trailer and then zip them tight around the shank and cut off the excess...I have been doing that for a couple years with no complaints.... |

| I feed a Mr Twister tail ALMOST all the way down the shank of the hook starting from the eye of the trailer hook. Then I feed the spinner hook through the tip of the grub AND the eye of the trailer hook which is embedded (sp?) in the tip of the grub. not exactly "bullet proof" but it has worked better than the milk jug disc.

Location: Holly, MI | I have used clear plastic tubing (a 1/4 inch piece of air hose like from an aquarium or aireator). You slide the piece of tubing over the eye of the trailer hook, covering the eye, then poke the main hook through the tubing on the trailer. These will not come off! |

Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Ditto the 1/4" tubing yes hard to poke through to get it on and the only way I could get them off was to CUT the darn things. Nev.........No failures to date. I was gonna say ," never failed" but we know what happens when you say the "n" word.

| I've seen a few of the production baits, don't remember what brand (maybe Lindy), have that ruberized dip over the eye of the trailer. It is then threaded on the main hook. What about trying some of that ruberized handle dip for hand tools? I've seen it at Farm and Fleet, I'm sure it's available elsewhere too. Comes in a couple of different colors. I haven't tried it, just an idea.

| I use flexible tubing....the clear stuff...I cut it into 1/2" strips and I shove the hook eye into the tube, then I push the spinnerbait hook through the stinger hook eye and both sides of the tubing. This stuff stays on and doesn't dry rot.

| I throw spinnerbaits alot and what I have found is if you take an old truck tire innertube, cut it inot 1/4 inch squares, put on your trailer hook and then the 1/4 inch inner tube. I have yet to have the trailer hook come off. This also allows for the trailer hook to swing freely and not cock to one side during the retrieve. I also use 7/0 regular spinnerbait hooks for replacement of trailer hooks I have had to cut out of a Lunge. The eyes are smaller than the ones designed for trailer hooks and are less prone to falling off past the barb.

| Our buddy Todd M. showed me a neat little trick. Wrap some old jerkbait leader wire tightly around the spinnerbait hook(2 or 3 wraps) after you put the stinger on. That sucker aint goin' nowhere. The hook also will swing freely. I have also used the thick clear plasic tubing when I need to keep the stinger inline with the blade and spinnerbait hook with out problems. |

| Use the 1/4" clear aquarium type tubing. Put that on top of the trailer hook eye. Then put a 3/8" piece of shrink tubing over the 1/4" tubing. Push through the trailer eye both pieces of tubibg through the hook in the bait. Use a lighter to heat shrink the shrink tubing. Works perfectly! |

| Steve, I use a plastic coated soft steel wire, three wraps, it's very easy to work with and bullet proof. The wire is about 0.41. shoot me an email with an address and I'll send ya a spool of it.

| Hi Steve
If your at the Blaine Expo, stop by my booth and I'll give you some. I use the vinyl hose that is used as gas line tubing on Those small gas model airplanes. A good hobby shop should have some. Works great!

Location: north central wisconsin | Been using the surgical tubing, and use about an inch long piece. I run the hook from the spinnerbait through the tubing, back out of the tubing and back through it again and through the trailer hook. This keeps the trailer hook in position(one of my pet peeves with most spinnerbaits) and keeps it from coming off. My buddy makes his spinnerbaits(G.P. Thumpers) this way, and I have changed the rest of mine out to the same. |
