I asked this same question awhile back and received pretty even results between Tuff line, power pro and cortland spectron. I also talked to alot of people at the recent chicago musky show. It seemed alot of people used cortland spectron and previously used the other brands. I decided to put cortland spectron on my reels this year. We'll see...

Power pro 80 and 100# just can't break the stuff and a lot dryer then other lines out there.[:sun:]

You may want to downsize to 65# in November wich allows you to cast all day without getting wet.

Tuffline for sure, 50 lb tuffline is unbelievable strong, 80 lb power pro breaks, trying 100 lb tuffline plus this year. Oh yeah, whiplash is ok too.

80 lb Cortland Spectron. I fish a lot of standing timber in the south and a lot of rocks up north and the abrasion resistance of this line is unbelievable. I have never had it break in the five years I have been using it. Hey Doc, you will be happy with your choice.

I use nothing but 80# Spectron, tough line, no problems in the timber or rocks.

Maybe the question should be asked....which line makes the best dental floss while you're out camping??? This is an easy question.....Spiderwire...it may be lousy to fish with but the 30 lbs test works great as floss due to it being flat. And it doesn't break like regular floss. Just store it in your Jack Daniels and you can pull it out and use it day after day!!!

The reason I asked this question is that I used whiplash, but have heard that they aren't making it anymore.
