Posts: 32934 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Look at the rooms where the swap and social are held, that's the best location IMHO.

Posts: 160 Location: Carney, Mi (in da UP eh!) | Already have my rooms booked at the Best Western on Mooreland Rd., they have a show special price. It's just a little ways to the Expo and is where the swap is being held...Are arrangements being made to have TV access at the swap as the BUDWEISER shoutout is Saturday night and wouldn't want to have to sit in my room to watch it????? Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Mr. Worrall is right. There is obviously the Midway where the swap is being held. Across the street is an Embassy Suites. 1/4 mile north of the Midway is a Sheraton. There are some slightly cheaper hotels located three miles west. These can be reached easily by taking I-94 west from the ramp near the swap hotel about three miles to the Barker Rd. exit. That area offers a Hampton Inn, Baymont Inn, and Motel 6. According to a policeman friend of mine Motel 6s are known as crack hotels throughout the country, and this one in Brookfield is no stranger to police calls. The show itself is an easy five mile drive east from the swap hotel on I-94 to the 84th St. exit in Milwaukee. State Fair Park is one block south of the exit. All these trips are easy freeway drives. There are also a couple of hotels at Highway 100 and I-94 which is about 1 1/2 miles west of the show, an Excel Inn and another Midway I think. Milwaukee is not like Chicago. Traffic only really backs up during the morning and afternoon drive times, and only during the week. Downtown Milwaukee freeway driving is a mess right now as the main Marquette Interchange is completely torn up and many exits into Downtown are closed. There. That should confuse just about anybody that reads it. Seriously though, this area is easy to navigate. Anybody with specific questions can ask me. I know where just about anything is the Metro Milwaukee area. As a note, I live in Brookfield where the swap is being held. If you plan on having a few cocktails, stay close to the hotel if you can. The police in Brookfield do not have a lot to do at night if you know what I mean. There is the bar in the swap hotel, and there is a CHAMPS Sports bar across the street. Kevin This is all part of the plan.

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Everyone can stay at Heibs place.......... Like mentioned before, everything is close. I94 is the main drag to everything. I would stay by the swap or close. The show is just East down I94. Very close and easy to get around. Lots of good places to eat in the area also.

Posts: 354 | Muskyhopeful, Coming down I 43 South Friday night. Will be coming in at a bad time. 4:30-5:00 PM. Was thinking about shooting West across the North side and sliding down to avoid the Marquette. This sound about right? Getting mixed reports about how bad the interchange is right now.

Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Greenduck It might take you 30-45 minutes to get through the Marquette interchange. A hassle but not the end of the world. The real problem with Downtown is you can't get off the freeway many places. If you want to avoid the traffic, take the Silver Spring Dr. exit about six miles north of Downtown. Then head west across the north side of Milwaukee until you hit Hwy 45. Hwy 45 south until you hit I-94 east. East until the 84th St. exit. State Fair Park and the show are right there. Honestly, I think its a wash either way. Lots of stoplights on Silver Spring. I'd probably stick with I-43 to I-94. Kevin Plan, Plan, Plan

I 43 to I 94 West is your best bet. -A anonymous Marquette Interchange worker
