Well with 50's and Rain on Thursday North Webster area should be open. Tippy is open right now. I am on the fence do I go and fish for the weekend or go to the musky show in Chicago. Fish for musky or buy lures to fish for musky......Tuff choice what would you guys and gals do......Show was great last year but getting a musky in the boat in January is also outstanding. Anyone else thinking of going this weekend?

Bob,

The weather looks good, so one day fishing and one day at the musky show based on the speaker you want to see. First pick on Friday, but I have to be in Chicago for work. The first time ever I won't be there Friday grabbing the best custom lures before anyone else gets there

Fish! You most likely have more baits than you can wear out in a lifetime. The best lures to catch fish are wet ones.

I was on the fence once down in carbondale, ripped the arse out of my pants.

Fishing sounds good you can always goto milwaukee but fun will be had this weekend too. A tossup but it might get cold again before spring comes.

Going out Thursday on Tippy...maybe Webster if it is open. I am already on the board this year with a small one. Going to the show Saturday/Sunday. Might even try to get out Friday and fish if possible.

Yes to both......but if you are a ballroom pass holder they will give you the combo to the lock...plus talked to a buddy who lives on Tippy and he thinks by this weekend you should be able to get out threw grassy creek or at Pie-eyed petes might have to break some ice that will not be very thick. If you had a season pass for the ballroom you can get the combo to the ball room

Mike, promised me that he will not divulge any top secret information regarding the Indiana muskie lakes. So I would just go fishing.

I am thinking of heading out this weekend, but don't really know where to start looking for fish. What do they relate to this time of year? Open water bait fish? That would be my guess. Any help?

Webster still has ice on over 80% of it. Tippy is totally open. If you were to go out I would stick to jigging in 20-40ft. of water right on bottom. I would pay attention to your fish finder and look for fish to be concentrated from bottom to 8 ft. off the bottom and stick in that area.

Grassy Creek, ARMY CORP of ENGINEERS is working on the dam and creek is very low last report I have. Creek was already pretty low after last summers drought, so if corp has lowered level to work on the dam its bad.
