| Does anyone have any specifics on the lake in July?? We are staying there the week after the fourth and was wondering if anyone had any lure recomendations, spots to fish, night fishing or not, you know the basics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What a lake. I have caught NO muskies out of here, but I will return about 2 times in August during my Leech trip. Seen a couple, and heard/read that it is known as a big fish lake. It is very deep, with an irregular shoreline dropoff from single digits to 17 feet, especially in the west end, Musky Bay. That weedline just stops right there, leaving alot of very dense cabbage walls around the open pockets. I think those are the key to this lake. I trolled between places I wanted to fish, many deep edges. I finally got to the Hayfields last year, and was advised to start out in 15-17 feet and work slowly right into the slop. One fish moved, but not active. I've heard its a lake to fish when the shadows are long and at nite- it's clear. It is 22 miles from where I stay on Leech. I think that next time I will go in at Little Boy just off the highway and take the canal through, so that I can fish the east end of the lake. I got advice about Wabedo from someone through my inbox here- I'll try to find it and send it to you.

| I have fished both Little Boy and Wabedo a few times. Never caught a single fish. I know they are in there. I have seen them and talked to locals. Wabedo is stained. Personally I like Little Boy more as I don't like the stained water. YOu have a chance for a big one |

Location: Otsego, MN | (Djwilliams) I would recommend just putting your boat in on wabedo and not channeling through depending on the size of your boat. The water if low can pose a challenge in certain areas.
I fish wabedo more than any other lake and would recommend it more as a night bite, during the day time don't even bother. You may see a lot of fish in the day but their not biting until low light periods. |

Location: Ames, Iowa | Thanks Pedro- Are you the one who gave me the advice (Hayfields) last July before I went up there? I have a 16 ft Lund that draws very little- have seen bigger boats get thru that canal. I like the idea of hitting Little Boy during the higher light time of the day, Wab late in the afternoon and into the evening.
I'd like to know more about LBoy.

you will be fine with a 16 ft. I have seen 20ft rangers go through their at certain times. I really do not hit little boy at all, I've always just stuck to Wabedo, it's a fun lake to fish and can be quite the challenge.
