One of those "fake" king salmon from the big lakes back out your way. Will be catching the real big boys on the Kenai this summer....one of small nuggets of living in Alaska....although there are no skis [:((] [:((]

Are they always that plump Jason....are is that a hen full of roe??

OH my! Its a Oncorhynchus tshawytscha-smith . These are noted for the fact that their girth exceeds their length. This is obviously a rare photo, because it shows the the discoverer of this rare species. Whom just by some strange coincidence seems to share the same physical characteristic.[] []

Doc....the photo and fish is REAL..and it was a MALE.. caught the end of August, 55ft of water in a huge school of alwiffes.

37" and 28lbs....the fish looked like a reject, huge girth.[]

The photo also shows my meat hound brother from MN. He filled his limits and sons limits and went home..and wanted to come back the next weekend to get more. I call him PHIL FREEZER.
