I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite bucktails are. I'm not looking at spinnerbaits by any of these bait makers, but rather actual bucktails/inline spinners. I ran out of options, but I think I got most of the major ones listed. If you've got more than one favorite, you can choose more than one.

Hi All,

My favorite bucktails are made by Ron Douglas at Crazy "D" Tackle. The best tail I've ever thrown and backed by the best customer service I've ever seen by a manufactuer. If it has rubber on it whatever Todd Minor is cooking up will work for me. I've caught some nice fish on his lures.

Make your own. It's easy, you get exactly what you want, and besides, what else do you have to do all winter long.

Without a doubt Mepps, and not just because I am on the pro-staff. It was almost the only bucktail I ever threw before getting on board with Mepps, with teh exception of an Eagle Tail here and there. Most versatile bucktail around, and the blades always spin!

Most of my muskies, including my personal best, came on Mepps brand. My daddy was a Mepps man from waayyy back. His pattern for smallies involved Mepps with and without skirt and a piece of pork rind.
I really like the pink tails Beaver tied up for me, though, just haven't hit fish with them yet. I will.
Grim Reaper makes an awesome shallow tail with two Colorado blades. I like. m

Eagletails- nothing seems to raise big fish like them. I also like the Mepps Marabou quite a bit for burning a bait along.

The past couple of seasons TM Tails and Mepp's Marabou's have been real good to me as well as Slippery Sam's. I throw more rubber tails now than hair, but some days the Marabou really rocks.

LLUNGEN TAILS...The bait is magic. Great components and cathes BIG fish. I heard there will be alot of new colors and different blades for the ones not working well this years.

My second favorite is the Big kahuana. Then I would have to go with the eagle tail.

Blackburn bucktails- the ones I still have left anyway. John Nesse no longer makes these fine bucktails.
Does anyone know what he is doing now?

Homemade- lots of options

Todd M Tails- easily retrieved, smooth and versatile.

Has the Lilytail been improved since it was sold to Musky Mania? Even small norhterns would bend the crap out of it. Save the hook, blade, clevis; throw the rest away.
