The Chamber of Commerce does not list any resorts on Big Lake - anyone know of rental properties or places to stay?

If you like skinny fish this is your lake. Stayed at Maple Beach but it is way up on a hill. Try Little Wolf Resort for real fish.

there are no fish on little wolf none what so ever. I should know thats were I stay and fish most of the time. really little wolf is a nice little lake with a good number of fish mostly mid 30-40's but a few big fish have come out it.and it's located close to some of the best musky waters. and the resort is the best around. the people that own it are great

Big is a quality lake, but unfortunately has been discovered in recent years. Ten years ago we would see next to no Muskie boats out all summer. Last year I snuck own to my boat at 5:30 a.m to find guys in a Ranger casting up to my dock. So much for hitting the water early. The pressure by Muskie guys in the know is way up in the whole Bemidji/Cass Lake area, but is still outstanding. As far as resorts if the Chamber websiite doesn't have a list, google the Bemidji area . I ran across a listing of all the area resorts in the past. Besides Maple on the north end and Sugarbush on the Southeast. There is another resort back in 3rd bay, but I don't recall the name.

Best Wishes

The other resort is Sandy Beach Resort - I started going there 10 years ago - haven't been there for about 4 years - it was run by Chuck Conway. Nicer than The other resort. It seemed like I was the only musky fisherman on the lake back then. Minn. Dnr started a stocking program about 6 years ago - there always were muskies in the lake. Word is out now. I'd rather fish Leech or Cass if you are up that way.
