Posts: 32934 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Good lure, made by a god guy. I have several, did pretty well on them last year. I especially like the fact you can move the bait really slow or fast, and it tracks well and makes a ton of noise. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Good lure. I had one, given to me by Ty, lent it to a friend on a trip last year, and he nailed a couple big fish on it. He kept it... Not sure if Ty is going to make them any more(hopefully he does), but the guy that first made the lure quite a few years ago(Ryan Jinkerson) will make them for you, though you will wait a spell, but definately worth it. Posts: 476 Location: WI | Nice Bait to use. I like it for its slow presentation. I first used it with Ty on the Chip a few years ago and caught a nice 41"er at dark on it. GotOne

Posts: 20254 Location: oswego, il | Not sure if Ty is making the bait anymore but he told me last winter this lure outproduced his pacemaker for fish in the boat. His new version for 05 was to move the rotating piece to the middle which he said improved the sound. I have a black one like worral has shown above and really like it alot.

Good lure ... have had some action on it over cabbage in a nice chop. Ty also made a few rough runners with spreaders that can be retrieved faster.

I will still be making the Rough Runner. Most of the stores have the bait in stock. I know Thorne Bros. has some for sure. I don't make the old two piece model anymore. I designed a new three piece one last year that sounds a lot better than the origional two piece one that Ryan Jenkerson designed to sell under my company name. I wasn't going to put it out because I was worried about the lure's through wire bending on a fish. After using it for a couple years without trouble, I figured I might as well put it out there. It makes quite a bit more sound than the origional one. You get a lot more chirping noise than the origional one. If it wasn't for a couple really hot weeks of action on Pacemakers this August, we would have boated more on stillwaters and Roughrunners than Pacemakers again this year also. Seemed like the Stillwaters were really, really hot in June and July. The Pacemakers were hot in August, and the Rough Runner's were hot in September. It's the same every year. So to answer the question, yes there will be Rough Runners produced again this year. They will be the same three piece ones that were out last year. Thanks, Ty

Posts: 691 Location: nationwide | Steve, The rough runner in the photo you posted - does it have a brass blade at the rear and a stainless blade at the front????? Below is what the three piece rough runner looks like. And as good as the original rough runner sounds these are better. Corey Meyer Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | You shouldn't need to bend them. They should be ready to rock the second you buy them.

Posts: 303 Location: Valentine, NE USA | Just put the bottom half of each paddle into a vice and use a pair of vice grips on the top half- you don't need a lot of gripping power but, a wide point of contact will be better. Make sure you rotate the head, or body section, 180* for the other side of the prop. Just bend the top half of each paddle forward about 45*. After that, you can adjust the pitch on the angle with a pair of pliers to get the sound you want. Hopfully that made sense....! B Edited by Snowcrest 6 12/22/2005 7:57 AM
