Yes indeed, great job. I was able to get a steal on a St.Croix to be able to donate more than planned to a great cause. My better half will love the walleye cranks and rod, keeps her all the more happier when I am out chasing these beasts. Getting her some stuff, sure does take the pressure off.[] []
May Ashton get well soon.

Yes it was great! I have never been in a chatroom before and watching the bidding was both exhilarating and heartening. I never realized what a great group of people you ALL are! Ashton does, and so does Grandma Jo thank you all for your time and contributions. A Very Special Thank You to Steve Cady for setting the auction up what a great and wondrous task you took upon yourself. Thank you all again!!!!

Grandma Jo[]

Thank you, everyone. The donations were VERY generous, and the bids even more so. It is my hope and goal that in the future we are able to help more than one child and family.

Until that time, MuskieFIRST--Jason ( Great Job, Sir. Thank you for the hard work making MuskieFIRST a comfortable place to live), Zach ( Thanks for everything, without you, this all would have been impossible), and our Auctioneer, Steve Cady (YOU are the MAN!), will continue to raise funds for Ashton's long ordeal.

One of our MuskieFIRST members came to me at the Muskie and Pike Expo with a donation and a GREAT comment...

"I bet Ashton will never have a problem finding a seat in a muskie boat!"

I will bet the same.

Still "reeling" from last nights extravaganza....the thrill of seeing a large crowd gather....fingers jerking spasmodically waiting to punch in a bid.....the deafening roar of "MORE TRS" as the mass of human fish surged toward the bait bucket......Cady the auction dude frantically keeping track of large sums of cash....Worrall/Smith/Collins controlling the crowd w/ gentle firmness.....but most of all the genuine concern + love for a little boy most of us may never see....+ that is what was most important! My own little boy was asleep upstairs during the auction; in perfect health + not realizing yet how hard life can be on others....my hope is that I can raise him to reach out to those who need help as he gets older...the same way all you guys are now...thanks for helping me to see the importance of sharing that which we have w/ those who need it! Cady, in our eyes you are NOT just another fisherman....you proved it last night.....[:sun:]

Shady, my heartfelt thanks for a job more than well done. Words cannot describe all the good that was done last night and will be done in the future. Specail thanks to all you guys at Muskiefirst for leting me be a part of the growing sense of family here. Grrrrrrrrrrreat job.
On to the next auction. Cady, I would be willing to help with another auction if need be. One guy to run the auction another person to make the calls etc. I can come toyourplace on the auction night if I have to. or we could work something else out. I am here if you need help.

Let Em Go...Let Em Grow.....so that someday Ashton can catch them.....Mike

muskyone,

When Ashton is older, I will be sure to tell him about all that everyone on this board has done for him. And I am sure he will get a chance to sit in someones boat and try for his own musky. So as you say, "let em go, let em grow." Bye, and thank you for the happy thoughts.

Mr Cady you are a [:halo:] for not only putting this thing together but making it a great success. In barely over a week's time you put together an auction that looks like is going to raise well over $5 000 and probably closer to $8 000. Sure I am getting a lot of thanks from you and other people but I didn't do much more then an e-mail and a few replys as well as donating a bunch of lures.[:sun:]

Ashton is going to grow up to be a great and lucky kid having great people to look up to like muskie fishermens.

Thank you very much Steve you have helped make a tough time for me go by a lot faster.
