Season in Wisconsin ends soon with the toughest and sometimes the best fishing ahead. The last couple years ice up was quite late, but this year looks to be more on schedule if one believs the long range forecast. When are you off the water by law or weather?

Probably second week of December down here in Chicagoland. Atleast I hope to still be fishing in December anyway!

I'll go as late as I can regardless of the weather. If there is open water, or a place where I can launch a boat in open water and then work the thin ice off a drift I want to make then I'll do it.

Thanksgiving day last year was a hoot. 5 footers, air temp around 25 degrees and people in their houses gawking at this nut that was working a break in front of their houses while they were eating their Thanksgiving Dinner.

I'm off the water until there is a Pope and Young buck laying on the ground. Then it's walleye time on The Mississippi River.
I'm hoping for one warm up yet so I can paint the last 50 Perkas that I have.
Still gotta build that room in the garage.
Hey, we should have an extreme makeover, basement bait edition.
I need a couple of carpenters and will pay you off in lures and rods and lots of bull#*#*

Fished November 23rd last year, 5 fish day. Fished the 26th, 27th and 30th. Fun to fish in a snow storm. Got dumped on with 6" of snow on the 27th. I will fish right through the end up here if the lack of ice allows it. Must be done on the 30th though.

We usually ice up around the 2nd or 3rd week in December. I'll pull out the ice fishing stuff then until about mid-March. There's usually places a bit further south to put a boat on if I feel the need though. It's just fishing for something else.

The last day out last year was November 26th. I ended up catching my biggest fish of the year that day as well. It was the only fish I saw that day. It came on a depthraider late in the afternoon. I will be fishing as late as the lake allows.

This time of year is why the IMTT is named the Ironman. Takes alot of fortitude and desire to fish when conditions get as cold as we're about to see. I look at it as icefishing...same clothes and attention to details. The last thing you want to be is uncomfortable while sitting in a boat for 8-10 hours. There's something about walking down tot he pier with a light snow on the ground and frost all over everything. Kinda seperates us from the "fair weather" guys. I feel alot closer to people who share the water with me when its 38ยบ for a high. Its a comradre.

I've had a wild 2005, am kinda glad to see it go, but we still have a month here in Wisconsin to do what we love best. Let's enjoy it, but be safe.

Right till the end. Had success on the last day of season last year, and hope to be out again on the last day again this year. I actually get more time right now, then on the last week or so, due to the rut occuring the other couple weeks. The bite really kicked in yesterday.

I never winterize until December.
Slamr, that is one of the nicest Wisconsin muskies for December that I've seen!

Usually Nov deer hunting ends my muskie season. But this yr I'm going to shoot the first deer I see in MI and take the boat to WI deer camp. I will be soaking suckers and casting DDD's over the Thanksgiving holiday this yr. Hoping for a big fish.

Since someone vandalized my boat last week while it sat on the lift, I guess I get out the wifes boat for my last "time on the water" Saturday and Sunday. I tend to stay out of the woods during the T zone and youth hunt. Monday it's time to start getting in the rut and concentrate on deer.

Last year I ended my season on Thanksgiving day. Could have made it out for a couple days after but it was getting tough to find lakes with open water at boat launches.

I will be on the water...and ice if it is thin enough for the boat to break through. I got a 46.5" last year on Jan. 1st! I love this weather! Had to take some time out this weekend and hunt the other big game...whitetail. I saw a 12-14 pointer 3 times. It came in on my dad Sunday morning and he wasn't ready. It bedded down 20yds, from him looking straight at him. Nothing you can do when you are sitting down with you bow hanging up.lol

Due to Family commitments I put the boat away over the weekend, It's always a sad day as I crawl around doing a final clean up and winterizing,

I store my boat at my mom's house and I could swear I heard taps playing as I turned off the lights and the Garage door slowly closed

How many day's till opener?
