| Sorry about the last post, I won a new Pete Mania rod and reel in a Musky Tourney, the first time I used the reel I couldn't get the drag to hold. I took the reel apart and cleaned it. It seemed to help but the first time I had it on the water after the cleaning the same thing happened. Can anyone give me some advice as to how to fix it? | |||

Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | take it back to bass pro and tell them it is defective and you want to replace it. even without a receipt they should give you a new one without any questions! only problem would be if you were going to return it for a refund then they would want a receipt. any questions or if you dont live near one shoot me a email [email protected]

| Muskihntr, Thanks very much for the insight and offer, I like the way the reel fits and feels and would like to give it a fair shot. | |||

Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | they are very nice reels. i didnt think much of them til i was fishing a year ago with one of the guides out of herbies camp, he beats the crap out of his reels, and was tellin me how he had been thru a whole season with no problems, throwing mag dawgs and big grandmas pretty much all the time, ive since bought 2 and really like them!

| I have about 150 yards of 80lb. power pro on the reel. Does anyone have any experience in fixing a problem like this yourself? | |||

| I will try that tonight, I appreciate the thought. | |||
