Posts: 32934 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The morning dawned cold and windy as the boats deployed to Boom, George and Julia Lakes at 7 AM. Water temps were in the 50's air temps in the 40's and winds at 15 MPH. West winds capped at 20 MPH with higher gusts during the day ushered in by a cold front last night. Two fish were caught today under tough cold front conditions. Jonesi and Adler caught a 38.25 on Boom, and Roberts and Long caught a 35.5 on Julia. The voluntary big fish pot was taken by Roberts and Long, cashing in on $120 for the honors. The forecast for tomorrow is for a high in the upper 50's with very light west winds and sunny skies. The awards ceremonies will be held at 2PM tomorrow at the Haven on Lake Julia Road. The raffle tonight was spectacular with over 150 prizes valued to as much as $500 each on the table. Thanks to the many sponsors for the donations, and thanks to Nelson's for all the hard work. The banquet was a great time with plenty of food and cake for dessert. Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Thanks for the kind words Steve. It seems as if everyone is really enjoying themselves. I will post what the total was for money raised, but we are looking in the neighborhood of $1,600+ that will be donated to the American Diabetes Association. Now, take into account that there were 16 teams that fished the tournament and not all of the judges were able to make the banquet, I think this is fantastic. Yes, only 2 fish were caught, but nearly every team had encounters with musky and many had multiple-multiple encounters. Many fish were lost and some nice fish were seen. The largest reported being seen was in the mid 40" class with possibly a couple of those just over that. Suckers seemed to be the answer today, but guys did move fish on bucktails, H2O Rippers, a prototype H2O bait that Roger had, Manta's and others. Both fish today ate suckers. We are pleased and proud to announce that because of the ethics of the tournament anglers we have, they had the best interest of the fish in mind and did not let the musky take the sucker for any length of time so they could just get into the money. Various rules that were put into place also detered any thought of that as well. I believe that tomorrow will bring a good day of fishing to the anglers. We may fall short of the 20 fish that I predicted, but the fun that people are having and the smiles on the faces has been incredible. A 60 boat field is max and getting there would be great for next year. We are hoping to double the amount of boats for next year and then double it again the following year. At that time a waiting list will be made. Well, it is 11:15pm and my eyes are being held open with toothpicks. Time for me to hit the sack. 4:30am will come too fast. Hope to see more of you next year. Great fun is being had by all. Chuck

what a spectacular tourney. the fonze and i had a great day saturday . friendship , badger miracles, (i love when they beat minnesota) then a swing and a miss on what would have been the fonzes biggest fish to date (45-46 guess?) and very possible 2nd place in the tourney. sometimes things just don't go your way.!!!!!!!!!!!!! but were not the kind to sacrifice the fish for a "payday". hook was set as soon as he could grab rod. as instructed by an exceptional judge team and tournement director. today on george was slow but memories of all the prizes and fun last night made day 2 worth it. thanks so very much for a great first year. CHUCK,CHRISTY,JUDGES,AND FISHERMEN AND WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and anyone who donated prizes.AWESOME.............. count fonze and i in next year. dannnyboy
