I ended up working all weekend, but heard from a few who had been out on the water. How'd you do Saturday and Sunday chasing the red finned toothy critters?

All I managed to do was aggravate my tendonitis. No fish Sat., took Sun. off
Nice cold front went thru though, actually comfortable in long pants and sleeves again.
Next front will put snow in the mtns.

Fished Palmer and T-foot. Had a monster take a sucker, but not the treb, and rose 6 more..alot of lookers no takers. The key was to find green cabbage. Every fish we saw was hunkered into healthy cabbage.

Water temps up by me were 64.3º on Saturday and 63.3º on Sunday.

I fished a new lake in West Virginia Saturday, they have only been stocking muskies there since 2003. I raised a nice mid-30's on a bucktail and had her dancing around the boat but she would not eat. Some bass guys got her about a half hour later on a crank bait. Really nice, clear water lake on the Hughes River system, lots of flooded timber and baitfish. Can't wait for temps to cool a bit, this could be a fun place. The bass guys were saying I was the first muskie guy they'd seen there. Hmm. m

Have to agree with John. Every fish I've had contact with in the past week has been in the helthy cabbage on about 10-12 foot breaks.

Got this one out of Waubesa on the Mad chain on Friday. Spinnerbaits sure are $ on the mad chain in September! Had a big fish blow up on a weagle early Sat. morning but couldn't get her to go after that. Thanks for the great net job Gerard!

(1) Shane Boetcher who had a great morning saturday and (2) my buddy Gare who nailed a 53" pig Sunday morning .... when is it gonna be my turn again?

It's not because of a lack of fish, it's because the cops are at my door every 5 minutes.

MuskieMike, great to meet you and have you aboard my Tuffy. Its a good thing you caught one big enough that I could see to net it.

I wish we could have seen more - but that how she goes. Maybe next time.

Hows about them Badgers, upsetting the Wolverines? I thought they were going to blow it for sure!

Gerard

once again, for the 2nd weekend in a row. didn't catch poop, see poop or even smell poop. that was after i finished looking for my 60$ sweatshirt that blew out of the boat, AND, on the way to find it/make sure i didn't leave it in the house, my little speakers and mp3 player blew out of the boat. speakers float, mp3 player detached and sank. i hate wind.

i know, i know, i shoulda had that stuff put away, but #*^@ if i wasn't excited to be out on the water and forgot.

230 in the hole. lesson learned.

Hung out up north with some great people and had a great time this weekend but re-affirmed my hatred for algae bloomed water. Looks like the weeds have been dead up nborth for quite awhile. Seen a few, had some misses and got a little one.

Eric, that was funny, sort of. Brand new truck with 6k miles and a new ranger 619 behind and I am kicking up gravel. I own neither. I am glad it was just my brain fart.

Actually a weekday report. Fished Shawano this morning for a few hours in the pouring rain with Wisconsin Wade moved one fish that was probably a muskie. Pretty brutal out on the main lake.
