| Hi everyone,
Heading up to Cass Lake this Friday and was hoping I could get some info on what is happening. Beav, I think you have been up there recently, any news? Thanks in advance for your help.

Location: Elgin, IL | Just got back from Cass. Fished four days, in all kinds of weather. Two fish in the boat (36, 46). Fishing was a little tough. The only pattern I could figure was that we had almost all our action when we found good green cabbage. We spent too much time fishing over weeds that had been green a couple months ago. Good spots in June, but now that the cabbage was going brown, not good spots in September!! No luck in the reeds, no luck on the rocks either.... although that could change any day now. Topwaters worked most consistently. Got action from glide baits and twitch baits too.

Location: Orland Park | Well, if the fish aren't in the weed, reeds, or boulders, try fishing the deep breaklines. Position your boat in 25' and cast to the edge of the bar, in about 6'. Try Buck Bar, either side of Deadman's Bar, Cedar Bar, Strawberry Bar, outside Schram Lake, Turtle River Bar.........so many options. |

| I asked a similar question on another site and the tip I got was to try a two bait approach. First throw a noisy topwater towards the weeds to lure the fish out of them on the retreive and then the second person follows with a crank or sinking jerk bait. I'll be at Cass the 22-25 of Sept. I'm going to give it a try. |

| Everyone,
Appreciate the tips. We had a fun week of fishing. Wind was out of a different direction every day. Sometimes it would switch in the middle of the day. We had only 2 muskies in the nets this week and both were small. We did see some tankers and had the same girl up 3 different times onad different days but couldn't get her to bite. Fish were in the bull rush and on the steep weed edges. Fish were not relating to the rocks, at least we did not even see any. Spinnerbait saw the most action and topwater bite was nowhere to be found. Still had a great time.
