My son Jon and I got the opportunity to fish Buckhorn Lake with guide Chris Haley on Sunday. We moved 14 fish in an afternoon / evening, action I've not ever seen the likes of! I guess many of these fish had spent the summer in deep water and were in the shallows for the first time this summer - they were NOT well-trained to the hook! Freakin redneck muskies would nose the bait along, grab and spit, I had one come outta the water right at the boat to give me my Mepps back!

Buckhorn is a gem of a river system lake, and Chris is one top notch fisher and guide. I'd recommend his services to anyone who is thinking about fishing Kentucky! They have a state park lodge there with wonderful hospitality. We would have stayed the week but with the hurricane predicted to dump 6 inches of rain in Ky. and Ohio on Tuesday we scooted for home (last year, when Mauser and I went to Wisconsin to Rhinelander, we left me wife to deal with Ivan's storms - I wasn't gonna make THAT move again!). Thanks, Chirs, for a truly memorable day on the water. m
