Well, the guide license application is in, and the sign posted in the front yard again, so it's back on the water for this old goat at least some this late sumer and fall. Should be fun!!

I guided muskies and walleyes for almost 20 years. I have been out of the trade for a couple years, and decided to hang the shingle back out, I miss guiding!

Though I am biased by the fact that I work for you, and count you as among my best friends (Dad) I can say without a doubt that not only is this a decision that we (me and Nikki) are excited for for you, but one I know will benefit many. I learn from you just being in the boat fishing with you, and from the snippets I have caught from your seminars. Anyone who makes the wise choice and takes you out for a day will not only have a fun, and fruitful day (muskie conditons allowing) but will learn more in that day than they might from all the time on the water a year without would bring.
Congratulations on a decision I've been trying to convince you of for years, and the best of luck in this newest adventure!

Lots of lucky people out there are going to get a chance to spend time on the water with one of the best. Can I still pay you with Polish sausage patties?
Best lof luck you old bull.
Remember to go slow and catch 'em all.

Beav,
It will always be my honor to fish with you whenever two old farts can find the time. The sausage patties ARE really good, though!

Thanks all for the encouragement. Slamr, I learned quite a bit from you too, especially gracefully re-entring a boat on the water and the true significance a certain rock that 'always holds a muskie'. I'm going to concentrate on Pelican as Norm's back-up, Moen, Crescent, George, Boom, and will be working alot of very small water, too.

Next year I'l be focusing on moving water, small passed by lakes, and Pelican, again as Norm's backup. Guess this means a bit less time in a tree in the fall, which is OK, I suppose! I'll be doing a VERY limited amount of Rut only archery whitetail hunting on my land and surrounding lands, and may offer baited bear hunts as soon as this season. Too many freaking bears out there, and that's a fact.

Congrats Steve.
I know you've been pondering this for a while. In fact we've talked about it.
Just remember not to let it overwhelm you. You've got a great wife and great family, don't let yourself get so busy that they end up on the back burner.
Good luck with the endeavor and make sure to keep an open seat for me occassionally. Course, I could always fish with Slamr.....actually, I've heard stories about Slamr. Maybe Keith would be a better choice.

Steve,

Best wishes with your new/renewed adventure. Make sure you keep it fun...

I am headed the other direction like you did a few years ago. Going to scale back to a few repeat clients for 2006 and maybe fish a few more events. Too many irons in the fire between work and other commitments. Need my fishing to be a place to have fun and a release from lifes other stresses, not become stressful in itself.

You'll do great, your knowledge on those waters is second to none... Stick a big one.

The day you are anybody's backup on the water is a cold day in...well you know! Alot of people that don't even know it yet are going to be thrilled that you are back in the business.

When you get overbooked, send some of those folks my way!! Best of luck to you Mr. Worrall.

Congrat's Steve on your BIG decision and I wish you well, though I know you won't need my luck to put your lucky clients on fish! You are a treasure of knowledge and experience and a real pleasure to be around.

Received the license today, so I'm officially back in the trade. Gotta get a site built, will get after that soon. Thanks everyone for the encouragement, I'm looking into all the 'little' waters and specialty stuff I used to do to make sure it's all still as good as it was. Pelican Lake included, as I said, as Norm's backup. I get to practice on Slamr this weekend, that should be fun.

FINALLY!!!

A guide that Kristy can recommend that can actually CATCH fish on Pelican. There has not been a guide that one could honestly recommend for that body of water for some time.

OOOPPPPSSSS!!! Norm, you reading this? LOL. Just kidding buddy. Now there are TWO great people to have guide on Pelican. You cannot go wrong with either one of these guys.

Congrats Steve!! Probably do not need any assistance with bookings, but Kristy can sure send some business your way if you would like.
